Ruff & Ready is a quick-fire mix put together by the brothers, kicking off with the original dancehall legend Sugar Minott (R.I.P.) in an 80s digital dance hall style and quickly progressing into new digital sounds pushed by the Jahtari label. Linking the two sounds of the digital era, both old and new, is the infamous Tempo Riddim. This classic rhythm track, produced by King Tubby, was inspired by the legendary Sleng Teng Riddim that went on to become one of the most versioned tracks in Jamaican music, with over 180 versions recorded since its first play at the Waltham Park Road sounclash back in 1985. If this high grade mix ticks all the right boxes for you, the Brothers are playing in-store at the Idle Hands record store in Stokes Croft  tomorrow evening. Joining them will be the one and only Tapes & El Fata. Things kick off at 6pm. The main event, however, is next door at the beloved Take5 Cafe - Peng Sound presents Tapes & El Fata with a live set played off a very special tape player. Support from the Brothers, Uhuru Selector, and powered by the hand- built Junbox Soundsystem. Doors open at 10pm and the first 20 through them will get a free physical copy of the Ruff & Ready mix.
